Aseptic Filling Technician I/II - Weekend Day

Location: NC-Clayton, US

SHIFT: WEEKENDS- 12 Hr Days

HOURS: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and every other Monday 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for equipment setup and operation in a biologics processing environment for plasma-derived pharmaceuticals.
  • Class A/B gowning qualified for facility cleaning of fill suites.
  • Operate support fill equipment such as glass inspection stations, rinser/tunnel, VAM, and over sealer. Load carts with vials or syringes.
  • Perform SIP/PBC Operations and filter integrity testing.
  • Prepare chemical solutions for production use, adhering strictly to safety rules.
  • Perform material handling and glass inspection activities.
  • Maintain detailed facility housekeeping, including cleaning and keeping work areas tidy.
  • Sanitize and disinfect floors, walls, and equipment per procedures, documenting sanitization activities.
  • Document production in real-time (e.g., BPR) and maintain accurate records/logs.
  • Monitor and operate control systems like SCADA and Andover.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties at the Technician level.
  • Qualify in fill room with the ability to set up and operate fill equipment independently in an aseptic environment. Demonstrate department-specific aseptic techniques.
  • Operate and monitor final container lyophilization, heat treatment, pasteurization, and cold box.
  • Operate filter integrity tester.
  • Prepare and label samples according to BPR and non-routine requests. Interpret and utilize support system information.
  • Assist with training for Technician level and train less experienced technicians in computer systems.
  • Maintain aseptic gowning qualification and media fill certification.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Good math and mechanical aptitude; experience in high-volume manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to work in an aseptic environment while maintaining sterility.
  • Effective team player.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with continuous standing, walking, and bending.
  • Off-shift and overtime work may be required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of pharmaceutical, chemical, or production manufacturing experience in a regulated industry within the last 5 years, OR
  • Graduation from an accredited college/university with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields, OR
  • Completion of the Bioworks Certification Program.

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to biological fluids, chemicals, machinery, and noise. Personal protective equipment is required. The role involves sitting for 4-6 hours, with occasional walking, standing, and bending. Ability to perform precise movements and lift up to 50 lbs is necessary. Good communication skills are essential.
