Job summary

Honda of Danbury is seeking a Flat Rate Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles to dealership and factory standards. You will perform inspections, troubleshoot, and repair engines, electrical and mechanical systems while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent with two years’ related experience; ASE certification preferred. Evening and weekend shifts may apply, with training opportunities and a professional team in a busy service department.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle inspections, troubleshooting, and testing to determine required or recommended repairs
• Accurately diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs including engine, mechanical, and electrical systems
• Examines vehicle to determine further safety or service work required
• Verifies serviceability and quality of repairs through test drives
• Maintains clean vehicle during repair process
• Contains costs by using warranty and evaluating options
• Communicates with Service Advisor/Dispatcher for additional work
• Assists in writing work orders and test rides as needed
• Keeps stock organized and inventory up to date
• Maintains clean, orderly work area and documents all work performed
• Follows attendance and timekeeping standards and company ethics
• Understands automotive terminology and keeps up with technology changes
• Attends training and company meetings as required
• Upholds confidentiality policies and professional appearance
• Performs other duties as assigned
