Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• All ASE A-Series Automobile and Light Truck Certifications required.
• Must maintain required ASE certifications throughout employment.
• Experience in automotive, fleet, or heavy-duty vehicle service.
• Experience on ambulances or emergency/commercial vehicles preferred.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and tech information.
• Proficiency with computerized diagnostic equipment and testing tools.
• Ability to operate mechanic tools, lifts, and shop equipment.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain/maintain TRAA certifications or licenses.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on ambulances and fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and other systems.
• Oil changes, brake service, tire work, battery replacement and fluid checks.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, emergency lighting, sirens and related components.
• Inspect vehicles for safety and readiness; maintain records.
• Use diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot vehicle issues.
• Coordinate with Fleet leadership on major repairs.
• Assist with installation or modification of vehicle equipment.
• Ensure vehicles are returned to service after maintenance.
• Follow OSHA, DOT, manufacturer and TRAA safety requirements.
