Job summary

A.T. Still University is seeking a Float Dental Assistant for its Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health based in Mesa, Arizona. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting students and faculty, maintaining supply levels, and ensuring the cleanliness of the operatory environment.

ASDOH - Dental Assistant - Float

Job Type: Full-time

Description

A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is seeking a non‑exempt Float Dental Assistant on the Mesa, Arizona campus.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist students/residents and/or faculty.
• Maintain supply levels.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of operatories used in the surgery department.
• Maintain suction lines and DUWL.
• Weekly meetings with students.
• Responsible for clinic department closure such as transporting instruments to sterilization, computer/monitor shutdown, closing vertical blinds, turning N2O off, organizing operatories, and other assigned duties.
• Process biopsies (Oral/Perio Surgery).
• Participate in staff meetings and other departmental meetings.
• Provide feedback on supply usage and possible cost‑saving measures.
• Attend continuing education courses.
• Maintain CPR certification through CPR certification course.

Requirements

• CPR and X‑Ray certification.
• 2–3 years of dental assisting experience, CDA preferred.
• At least one year of electronic health records (EHR) software experience.
• Knowledgeable in OSHA standards, aseptic procedures, HIPAA regulations, sterilization, infection control, and all dental procedures and supplies.
• Professional appearance and strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
• Flexible, able to change assignments with little direction.
• Ability to work well independently and in a group environment.
