Job summary

Kentwood Public Schools seeks a ParaProfessional - Special Education ASD to support students with autism in a classroom setting under direct supervision. You will assist with instructional goals and provide opportunities for additional adult/student relationships.

The role involves supervising lunch, bus duty, playground, and other non-instructional areas, and collaborating with teachers and related service providers. CPI training is provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of college or an associate degree or equivalent 60 credits.
• Experience working with students with Autism.
• CPI training or willingness to participate in CPI training.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning and social skills.
• Assist with classroom assignments, assessments, and materials preparation.
• Document student learning using data tracking aligned with IEP/PCS/PBSP.
• Support behavioral management to maintain a safe classroom.
• Supervise lunch, bus, playground, study hall, and other non-instructional areas.
• Assist with field trips and communicate with parents as needed.
• Work as a team with teachers and service providers.
