Job summary

Hazel Park School District is seeking an ASD Classroom Teacher - Elementary to join our educational team. This full-time position focuses on students with Autism Endorsement in a high-need setting and requires collaboration with families and staff.

You will differentiate instruction, monitor student progress, and participate in MET and IEPT meetings while maintaining records and coordinating Medicaid billing as needed. The district emphasizes inclusion and high expectations for all learners.

Qualifications

• Autism Endorsement credential required or in process
• Proven ability to write, implement, and monitor IEPs
• Experience using data to track student progress and plan interventions
• Experience delivering differentiated instruction and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
• Ability to integrate technology into classroom instruction
• Strong written and verbal communication with staff and management
• Proof of satisfactory criminal background check per state standards

Responsibilities

• Provide differentiated instruction to students on caseload
• Evaluate and monitor student growth and develop targeted interventions
• Maintain contact with parents of caseload students
• Complete caseload monthly Medicaid billing

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Teacher / FTE 1.0

Hazel Park is seeking applicants for the position of Special Education Teacher - Autism Endorsement (SA). The district is served by a caring and professional teaching and other staff providing instruction and support to approximately 3,100 students. The Hazel Park community is proud and supportive of its schools, the staff and student population.

Specific Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with an Autism Endorsement (SA) required
• Highly Qualified in accordance with No Child Left Behind Guidelines
• Experience in providing instructional services to students who are certified ASD
• Experience in providing visual schedules, daily routines, and flexible behavioral interventions for students
• The ability to write, implement, and monitor IEP's
• Knowledge and/or understanding in consistent use of data to monitor student growth, inform instruction, and develop interventions
• Experience in differentiated instruction, Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports Systems, and individualized programming options for students
• Ability to integrate technology into the curriculum
• Superior communication skills in writing and speaking with all levels of management and staff
• Applicants must be able to show proof of a satisfactory criminal background check as defined by state standards

Job Responsibilities:
