Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; ASCP certification preferred or eligible.
• ASCP certification or completion of ASCP coursework may be considered equivalent.
• Experience in an automated clinical laboratory

Responsibilities

• The 55% uses critical thinking, academic theory, facilitation and leadership abilities, and advanced customer service skills in complex analyses of body fluids and tissues.
• The 15% provides professional customer service to clinicians, patients, and staff, including telephone communication and patient interactions.
• The 20% performs quality control checks, documents QC data, maintains logs, and ensures instrument performance and data validity.
• The 5% engages in continuing education and competency development, training new employees and students.
• The 5% performs miscellaneous duties and participates in safety, quality, and efficiency initiatives in a High Reliability Organization.
