Job summary

Baptist Health Paducah Laboratory is seeking a Cytotechnologist ASCP for full-time, first shift. The role requires expertise in preparing, staining, and evaluating gynecological and non-gynecological specimens, including fine needle aspirations, with high accuracy and confidentiality.

Candidates must hold ASCP certification, complete a Cytology Program, and a bachelor's degree. The position emphasizes attention to detail and professional collaboration with physicians, staff, and patients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• Completion of Cytology Program is required.
• ASCP certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with processing of specimens collected in CT scan as required.
• Performs routine microscopic evaluation of cytologic smears and cell blocks.
• Completely and correctly screens and interprets cytologic specimens.
• Numbers specimens received into computer system with proper identification as to the patient and specimen type.
• Maintains maintenance schedule for equipment and monitors supplies of the department.
