Job summary

HEALTH PARTNER ONE LLC seeks an experienced RN to provide direct patient care from pre-op assessment through post-op, ensuring safety and quality at every step.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, and 2+ years in PACU/ICU/ER/OR environments. You will work under supervision to support surgical patients and families.

Qualifications

  • RN license in the state of practice is required.
  • BLS, CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications are required.
  • Two years of PACU, ICU, ER or OR experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care and perform pre-operative assessments and patient preparation for surgery.
  • Deliver intraoperative, post-operative and post-procedure care following policies.
  • Document care in EHR clearly and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiology staff and other team members.

Full Job Description/Notes:General Summary:The ASC Staff RN provides direct nursing care to patients by performing pre-operative assessment and preparing the patients for surgery in accordance with facility and organizational policies, meeting the standards of professional nursing practice, as well as intraoperative care and post-operative care. This person is accountable for using his/her experience and judgement/nursing skills to plan for the appropriate care for his/her patients. Consistently remains calm and applies judgement during stressful situations, always putting the needs of the patient first.Nature of supervision received: Direct supervision from nurse manager, indirect supervision from anesthesiologist, CRNA and physicians.Interacts with: Patients and family, visitors, physicians, nursing staff, radiology, sales representatives, students, clerical staff and administration.Major Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:Quality of Job:Patient focus, compassion, innovation, integrity and fiscal responsibility.Effectively utilizes the nursing process in caring for patients. Maintains working knowledge of techniques and principles of nursing care to ensure complete and competent care of patients.EHR documentation is clear, concise and complete.Collaboration with patient/family and members of the healthcare team. Acts as a patient advocate with others.Complies with all safety and infection control standards/policies.Complies with all surgery center policies and procedures.Follows all nursing standards and protocols.Assures patient confidentiality at all times.Exhibits flexibility in areas of assignment.Follows procedures and practices related to pain management assessment and identification of abuse and neglect.Follows all OSHA Safety, Fire and Emergency Preparedness guidelines.Performs other functions as requested by the Nurse Manager to include but not limited to, stocking and maintaining adequate supply levels, end of day narcotic counts and patient chart reviews.Collaborate with physicians on orders and reviews lab values, EKG’s and x-ray reportsDocument care/charges that is given to patientProvide prescribed medications and their pharmaceutical products in accordance with physician’s ordersRemain prepared for emergency situations ensure to utilize correct emergency procedures, locations of emergency call system and location of emergency supplies and equipmentAdministers medication and performs treatments to assigned patientsParticipates in the maintenance of a clean and safe environmentQuality of Work:Performs job duties competently and in a timely manner.Adjusts work assignments and personal schedule according to patient load and staffing needs.Knowledge of Job:Attends all mandatory in-services.Maintains current knowledge of skills necessary to provide nursing care to patients of all ages and levels of growth and development.Education/Experience:Must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of practice.Must have BLS CertificationCPR, ACLS and PALS certification is requiredTwo years of PACU, ICU, ER or OR experience is desired.Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions.Thorough knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to any age level and any level of growth and development.Maintains current knowledge and skills in department policies and procedures and implements appropriatelyUses problem solving techniques in resolution of patient care issues.Acts as a patient advocate.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
