Schedule: PRN

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00/hour

Position Summary

The RCIS will scrub and perform specialized procedures following department/facility policies and procedures. Responsibilities include oversight of inventory management program, equipment and supply ordering, and collaboration with vendors and physicians to maintain cost-effectiveness.

Essential Functions

• Performs/scrubs diagnostic and/or interventional procedures.
• Displays competency with injecting contrast media for associated procedures.
• Assists with acquiring and opening product during procedures based on physician needs and orders.
• Maintains a safe working environment; assists team with patient turnover and room cleaning between procedures.
• Contributes to and maintains computerized inventory management (SIS, Envi).
• Cross-trained and competent to act as an inventory specialist and assist staff in supply chain management, organization, and utilization.
• Demonstrates professional behavior and fosters accountability for teamwork.
• Holds accountability for ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities including confidentiality of all work and patient information.
• Adequately informs and educates the patient/families regarding exams to be performed.
• Maintains ability to use/maintain equipment appropriately (IVUS/FFR/IFR, atherectomy/thrombectomy devices) and troubleshoots equipment maintenance issues.
• Participates in quality improvement regarding patient safety and care.
• Interacts with physicians, patients, families, and external contacts such as employees of other healthcare institutions, community providers and agencies concerning the patient’s healthcare.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Registered Cardiovascular Specialist Certification
• Five years Cath Lab experience
• Current ACLS/BLS certification
