Job summary

Hillmann Consulting, LLC is seeking an NYC DEP Asbestos Investigator to join our team in the NYC area. We are a leading environmental consulting firm offering growth, impactful projects, and comprehensive benefits.

The role requires 2–5 years in the industry, a science-related degree (preferred), and strong regulatory knowledge. Candidates should be detail-oriented, skilled in client management, and capable of working with minimal supervision. Excellent communication in English is essential.

Qualifications

• College degree in a science-related field preferred, but not required.
• 2–5 years of industry experience.
• Certifications like CHMM, HAZWOPER, and construction safety training are desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations, develop remediation plans, and report findings and results in accordance with regulations and applicable industry guidelines.
• Collect air samples during asbestos abatement work to verify compliance and complete project records, logs and chain of custody forms.
• Perform air and bulk sampling according to EPA, OSHA, NIOSH, and industry analytical methods.
• Generate remediation scope of work plans based on inspections.
• Obtain and maintain applicable certifications and licenses.
• Respond to client emergencies during normal business and off-peak hours and be on-call for 24-hour disaster response.
