Job summary

Peerless Environmental is seeking an Asbestos Abatement Technician to safely identify, handle, contain, remove, encapsulate, and dispose of asbestos-containing materials in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. The role supports remediation of mold, lead, and other hazards as needed.

Qualifications

• State or federal asbestos certification/licensing preferred or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
• Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and hazardous material handling procedures.
• Strong PPE usage and respirator safety practices.
• Experience in asbestos abatement, construction, demolition, or environmental services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect job sites to identify asbestos and hazardous materials.
• Prepare containment areas and negative air systems to prevent cross-contamination.
• Safely remove and dispose of asbestos-containing materials.
• Follow OSHA/EPA/local regulations for hazardous material handling and disposal.
• Operate remediation equipment and maintain safety documentation.
• Communicate progress and material needs to supervisors.
