Job summary

SIDRAM TECHNOLOGIES is urgently hiring an AS400 Synon Application Support Engineer for the Schaumburg, IL area. The role demands 20+ years of experience in AS400/IBM iSeries environments, with strong COBOL, RPG, CLLE, and DB2/400 skills.

You will provide L2/L3 production support, analyze incidents, perform root-cause analyses, and deploy fixes in a fast-paced healthcare-oriented setting. The position is onsite in Schaumburg, offers a full-time/contract arrangement, and requires Independent Visa

Qualifications

• Must have extensive AS400/IBM iSeries experience with COBOL, RPG, CLLE and DB2/400.
• Strong knowledge of SYNON/CA 2E and Query/400 is required.
• Experience with application maintenance, production support, and batch/job queue processing is essential.
• Proven ability to diagnose incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement fixes in AS400 environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production support for AS400-based applications.
• Perform incident analysis, root-cause identification, and resolution.
• Handle bug fixes, minor enhancements, and code deployments.
• Monitor batch jobs, interfaces, and system performance.
• Support data corrections and production troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Business, QA, DevOps, and cross-functional teams.
• Follow change management and release processes.
• Handle on-call support and critical production issues.
• Maintain documentation, knowledge bases, and support runbooks.
• Participate in continuous improvement and system stability initiatives.
