Job summary

Georgia Highlands College is seeking a part-time sociology instructor to teach at multiple Northwest Georgia campuses, including Floyd, Cartersville, Marietta, and Paulding. The instructor will prepare and deliver sociology instruction, monitor student progress, and participate in outcomes assessment.

Reporting to the Division Chair for the School of Social Sciences and Education, the role supports the college’s growing, multi-site environment and contributes to student success across campus

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Master’s degree in the subject or a Master’s with 18 hours of graduate-level courses in sociology
• Available to teach day, evening, or weekend at any of the Georgia Highlands College instructional sites

• Manage courses through systematic use of syllabi
• Keep accurate records of students’ class performance, attendance, and grades
• Adopt and implement common course objectives
• Attend part-time faculty orientation prior to the beginning of the semester
• Participate in assessment of student learning outcomes

Job Summary

Part-time instructor for a multi-site college in the University System of Georgia. Reporting to the Division Chair for the School of Social Sciences and Education, the part-time instructor is responsible for preparing for and delivering instruction in sociology.
