As Needed Managing Director, PRET | Corporate Finance & Restructuring

FTI is an industry leader in Power, Renewables, and Energy Transition, providing a wide range of services to companies and investors globally, including corporate finance, strategic market entry, financial and operational restructuring, interim management (CEO, CRO, CFO), M&A, due diligence, dispute advisory, and performance optimization. We support clients across the value chain, addressing strategic, financial, operational, reputational, regulatory, and capital needs.

What You’ll Do

  • Apply financial, operational, and analytical skills to various client engagements such as research, strategy formulation and implementation, financial modeling, operational and business plan assessments, due diligence reviews, and M&A advisory.
  • Prepare comprehensive written reports for clients and professionals, summarizing project scope, findings, and recommendations.
  • Lead and assist in new business development, including preparing presentations and leading meetings.
  • Oversee client engagements, project administration, staff management, project budgets, and billing.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior staff in key service areas.

Specific Qualifications

  • Extensive experience working with U.S. federal agencies involved in energy infrastructure projects, such as the Department of Energy, U.S. Development Finance Corporation, or Export-Import Bank of the U.S.
  • Deep advising experience with senior lenders across all transaction phases, including origination, loan monitoring, and collateral recovery of distressed loans.
  • Experience supporting lenders in transaction management, due diligence, application evaluation, financial analysis, project structuring, agreement negotiation, and loan monitoring for infrastructure projects with federal funding commitments.
  • Proven track record in project or corporate financing for large infrastructure projects with loan commitments exceeding $1 billion from U.S. federal agencies.

FTI supports clients across the clean energy sector, including wind, solar, biofuels, energy storage, and emerging technologies, offering services in corporate finance, strategic market entry, restructuring, interim management, M&A, due diligence, dispute advisory, and performance optimization.

Basic Qualifications / Qualifications & Experience

  • BA degree with a minimum GPA of 3.4; MBA, CFA, CPA preferred.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in power, renewables, or energy transition sectors, including consulting, asset management, banking, private equity, or corporate roles.
  • Strong client service skills, problem-solving tenacity, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • This role requires travel to client sites and FTI offices.
