Job summary

Bevara Building Services in Houston seeks a Flex Building Engineer to provide world-class service at commercial airport buildings in the Northeast Houston region on an as-needed basis. The role supports the Building Engineering team, training occasionally and backing up full-time staff during vacations or emergencies.

Responsibilities include regular assessments of building systems, minor repairs, preventative maintenance, managing work orders for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred 3–5 years in commercial building operations and engineering.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and make independent decisions.
• Basic computer skills and smartphone proficiency.
• Current and valid driver’s license.
• Lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular assessments of building systems.
• Perform minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and respond to service requests for interior and exterior building equipment.
• Manage work order requests related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems.
• Proactively maintain an ongoing task list for the property management team.
• Serve as the primary contact for vendors, overseeing check-in/out and escorting them to work areas while documenting work completed.
• Assist with fire panel and extinguisher inspections.
• Ensure a safe job site and adherence to safety standards (Company, OSHA, client).
• Maintain professional conduct in line with company values.
