Job summary

Pibank USA is seeking a proactive IT Operations professional to manage the AS400 environment, run nightly batch processes, verify outputs, and document exceptions. You will monitor activity, handle job queues, and escalate issues to ensure timely processing.

The role includes performing scheduled backups, managing print/output queues, and maintaining comprehensive run sheets and incident records. Mailroom duties are included as a secondary responsibility.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of computer operations experience, including hands-on AS400 batch processing, job queue monitoring, backups, and report production.
• Working knowledge of AS400 commands, subsystems, operator messages, job and history logs, output queues, printers, and basic backup/restore procedures.
• Basic proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, and email.
• Basic mail handling and shipping skills, or the ability to learn established mailroom procedures.

Responsibilities

• Execute the nightly Pcomp process and scheduled batch jobs according to approved run sheets; load required files and document exceptions.
• Monitor system activity, operator messages, batch jobs, job queues, devices, and printer output; troubleshoot and escalate issues.
• Submit and display jobs; review logs and diagnose processing problems using run sheets and history logs.
• Perform scheduled backups and restores; verify completion, document failures, and label backup media.
• Manage print/output queues, writers, reports, and ensure correct output routing.
• Review device descriptions and adjust printer/controller attributes as authorized.
• Start/stop subsystems and perform IPLs only under approved procedures during maintenance or recovery.
• Maintain run sheets, processing logs, incident records, and shift handoffs for continuity.
