Job summary

Palm Beach Symphony seeks a Programming Assistant to support education programs, community engagement, and orchestra operations. The role requires strong organization, communication, and project management skills, with experience in arts education and knowledge of classical music.

On-site work in West Palm Beach with occasional evenings and weekends for events. The position reports to the Director of Artistic Operations and collaborates across marketing, development, and finance to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music, arts administration, education, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in nonprofit arts, education, event coordination, or operations support.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (AP Style familiarity preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); experience with Google Calendar and Google Workspace a plus.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and basic design skills and social media platforms a plus.
• Experience with event production, education programming, or community engagement preferred.
• Knowledge of classical music strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Education and Community Outreach: coordinate and manage education programs, school partnerships, and outreach events.
• Concert/Artistic Operations: assist rehearsals, performances logistics, and backstage support.
• Operations & Administration: maintain master calendars, track invoices, and prepare program reports.
• Marketing & Communications: support promotions, social media content, and printed materials.
• Cross-Departmental & Strategic: collaborate across departments and support partnerships and workflows.
