Job summary

Berea Arts Council seeks an energetic, collaborative Executive Director to lead the organization into its next chapter of growth and impact. The role reports to the Board of Directors and requires a hands-on leader who can build relationships with artists, supporters, and partners.

You will oversee programs, fundraising, finances, and operations, and serve as an ambassador for the arts in Berea and the surrounding community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in arts administration, fine arts, nonprofit management, business, communications, or related field, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit leadership, arts administration, community development, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in fundraising, grant writing, donor cultivation, sponsorship development, or related revenue-generating activities
• Organizational leadership, including the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including volunteers, artists, donors, community partners, staff and board members.
• Organizational financial management
• Project-management
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; Passion for the arts and their role in building vibrant communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the organization and implement strategic priorities in partnership with the Board of Directors.
• Manage day-to-day operations, finances, policies, and administrative systems.
• Develop and oversee exhibitions, educational programs, events, and artist opportunities.
• Lead fundraising efforts, including grants, sponsorships, donor cultivation, membership growth, and special events.
• Supervise staff, contractors, instructors, interns, and volunteers.
• Oversee communications, marketing, public relations, and community partnerships.
• Serve as an advocate and ambassador for the arts and for Berea Arts Council throughout the community.
