Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations seeks a Senior/Development Coordinator to support fundraising and engagement goals for the School of the Arts and ICA.

You will manage calendars, travel itineraries, prepare research, draft letters, coordinate donor acknowledgments, assist with event logistics, and maintain donor data in the database, while safeguarding confidentiality and collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in customer service, donor relations, or other public-facing roles.
• Undergraduate degree from an accredited university, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with scheduling and calendar management (Google Calendar).
• Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Google Suite.
• Availability to work occasional evenings and weekend events.
• Ability to manage time, priorities, and multiple projects.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support including calendars, travel planning, donor visit itineraries, and research for proposals.
• Draft letters and briefs, maintain documentation, provide fiscal support and project management.
• Coordinate donor acknowledgment processes with timely, personalized correspondence.
• Assist with event planning logistics for VCUarts and ICA donor activities.
• Enter donor interactions and event participation data into the donor database.
• Support data integrity and biographical record updates for donors.
