Job summary

The Apollo seeks an accomplished artistic leader to serve as Artistic Director, guiding year-round programming and artist residencies across six venues, including the Historic Theater and The Victoria stages.

Reporting to the President & CEO, the role shapes partnerships, learning programs, and campus activation while stewarding The Apollo’s legacy and mission to elevate Black voices and culture.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in live events, entertainment, performing arts, producing, or related industries.
• Significant hands-on experience curating complex programming initiatives with a passion for all forms of performance.
• Familiarity with the arts and entertainment venues and producers in New York City and other major markets.

Responsibilities

• Articulate the artistic vision for The Apollo, assembling an overall season with a cohesive message each year.
• Produce signature cultural experiences and multidisciplinary programming across six venues.
• Oversee learning and engagement programs and partnerships with various internal teams.
