Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Florida is hiring a Pastry Baker/Mixer to join the Bakery team. You will be responsible for daily production of baked goods, including mixing, dividing, shaping, proofing, and baking breads and pastries, while communicating needs with team members to keep production on schedule.

You will weigh ingredients, follow recipes, maintain logs, and operate equipment safely. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work a rotating schedule including

Qualifications

• Experience in bench hand production.
• Thorough knowledge of baking ingredients, equipment, weights, and measures (tares).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Excellent math skills (ability to do on the fly math).
• Basic computer and software skills.
• Ability to take direction.
• Ability to taste and evaluate all products to judge quality.
• Able to learn proper and safe usage of Hobart mixer and baler and all other knives and kitchen production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Know correct mixing order and be accurate in mixing, dividing, shaping, proofing, and baking.
• Mix doughs correctly and weigh/measure accurately using scales.
• Follow recipes and know the location of all ingredients.
• Follow the production schedule and maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Operate and sanitize all equipment including mixers and baler.
• Read and speak basic English and adhere to health, sanitation, and Kosher procedures.
