Job summary

Robert Thomas Iron Design (RTID) is seeking entry-level craftsmen to join a growing team in North Charleston, SC. You will learn traditional blacksmithing techniques, forge and shape carbon steel, and contribute to producing one-of-a-kind and production pieces for diverse clients.

Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, detail-focused, and eager to learn. The role offers a standard first-shift schedule with potential overtime and a collaborative workshop environment in a historic industrial

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in metalwork, manufacturing, or related field is desirable but not required.
• Able to follow detailed work instructions and processes.
• Self-motivated, dependable and goal-driven to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

• Create artisan carbon steel products using traditional blacksmith techniques.
• Forge, shape, texture, assemble and finish steel pieces.
• Use sanders, grinders, riveters, presses and hammers to manipulate metal safely.
• Work with your team to meet production deadlines.
• Follow work instructions to produce pieces meeting quality standards.
