Robert Thomas Iron Design (RTID) is seeking entry-level craftsmen for first shift in Charleston, SC. Learn to make hand-forged artisanal carbon steel products from start to finish, combining traditional blacksmithing with modern tooling.

You will be trained and become part of a creative team building custom ironwork for diverse clients. Responsibilities include forging, shaping, texturing, and assembling steel pieces, following detailed instructions, and maintaining safety in a fast-paced shop

Competenze

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in metalwork or related field is desirable but not required.
• Mechanically inclined with ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Able to read mechanical drawings, blueprints and sketches.

Mansioni

• Create artisan carbon steel products using traditional blacksmith techniques.
• Forge, shape, texture, assemble and work with steel.
• Use sanders, grinders, riveters, presses, hammers to manipulate metal.
• Work within a team to meet production deadlines.
• Follow work instructions and processes to ensure quality.
• Own the quality of all produced items and comply with specs.
• Use squares, levels and measuring tools to verify tolerances.
• Work safely by following all safety policies and standards.
