Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Cannon Crewmember to operate howitzers, identify targets, and support artillery operations with increasing responsibilities as skills grow.

Training is provided: 10 weeks of Basic Training followed by seven weeks of AIT. Benefits include paid training, tuition assistance, Montgomery GI Bill, healthcare, and retirement options, with a steady drill weekend paycheck.

Qualifications

• Physically and mentally fit to perform under pressure.
• Ability to make quick decisions on the fly.
• Capable of working as a team member in high-stress scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Conduct wire and radio communications.
• Identify target locations for artillery.
• Set, load, and fire artillery.
• Use computers to generate fire direction data.
• Operate heavy and light wheeled trucks and tracked vehicles.
• Transport and manage artillery ammunition.
• Maintain operational readiness of vehicles and equipment.
• Participate in reconnaissance operations.
