Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Cannon Crewmember to operate howitzers and learn advanced artillery systems, including fire direction and tactical decision making. You will train to contribute to battlefield readiness and national defense.

You'll complete Basic Training (10 weeks) and Advanced Individual Training (7 weeks), earning a paycheck while you learn. Benefits include tuition assistance and retirement benefits for part-time service.

Qualifications

• Must be physically and mentally fit to perform under pressure.

• Capable of working as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Conducting wire and radio communications.
• Identifying target locations.
• Setting, loading, and firing artillery.
• Using computers to generate fire direction data.
• Operating heavy and light wheeled trucks and tracked vehicles.
• Transporting and managing artillery ammunition.
• Maintaining operational readiness of vehicles and equipment.
• Participate in reconnaissance operations.
