Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking an Artillery Mechanic to supervise and perform maintenance on self-propelled field artillery cannon weapon systems, including automotive, turret, fire control, and chemical protection subsystems.

You will learn to maintain these systems, troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions, and repair, test, and adjust damaged equipment through structured training and hands-on practice.

Qualifications

• Must have basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
• Ability to read schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Interest in weapons and ability to work with test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain diesel power plants, engine and related systems on artillery equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform unit maintenance on carriage-mounted armament and related subsystems.
