Aurrum Services in New York City is seeking an AI Engineer to join our hybrid NYC team and help build production-grade AI systems that automate complex workflows using LLMs and multi-agent architectures.

You'll own technical direction, design architecture, and work with product and engineering to deploy agentic AI solutions; strong background in fast-paced startups and passion for production AI are valued.

AI Engineer – Agentic AI | Series A - E Startup | NYC Hybrid | $180K–$280K + Equity

We're partnering with an innovative Series A - E startup that's building an AI-powered platform to automate complex financial workflows within the healthcare industry. This is a unique opportunity to join a small, high-impact engineering team and help build an agentic AI platform from the ground up.

About the Role

As an AI Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building, and deploying production-grade AI systems that automate complex workflows using Large Language Models and multi-agent architectures.

This is a true zero-to-one opportunity, where you'll have significant ownership over product direction, technical architecture, and AI system design.

What You'll Do

• Design and build production-ready AI agents and agentic workflows
• Develop LLM-powered applications using modern prompting, RAG, and retrieval techniques
• Build scalable AI systems using Python and modern ML frameworks
• Design multi-agent orchestration pipelines for complex reasoning tasks
• Optimize AI models for production performance and reliability
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver impactful AI solutions
• Experiment with emerging AI technologies and rapidly prototype new capabilities

Required Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience building production ML/AI systems
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Experience building or deploying AI agents or agentic workflows
• Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Experience deploying machine learning models into production
• Background working in fast-paced startup environments
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
