Job summary

Radley James is seeking an AI Agent Engineer in New York (Hybrid) to help build the next generation of a scalable voice AI platform. The role offers a meaningful equity package and a chance to own a core product from early on, with direct access to founders. You will design and scale production-grade voice agent infrastructure, improve real-time performance, and collaborate with the team to shape the platform's technical direction.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Python skills and experience building AI-powered applications.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI agents or conversational AI.
• Experience with voice technologies or real-time systems is a plus.

AI Agent Engineer | New York (Hybrid) | $200,000-$300,000 base salary + Equity

We're partnering with a well-funded, high-growth AI startup that's transforming a traditionally manual industry through autonomous AI agents. Backed by leading investors and already generating significant revenue, they're now looking for an AI Agent Engineer to help build the next generation of their voice AI platform.

This is an opportunity to join an early team where you'll own a core piece of the product from the ground up. You'll design and build scalable voice agent infrastructure, improve real-time conversational AI, and work on systems handling millions of customer interactions every month.

What you'll be doing:

• Building and scaling a production-grade voice AI platform.
• Designing orchestration, prompt management and conversation flows for AI agents.
• Improving latency, reliability and real-time performance.
• Creating evaluation frameworks to measure and improve AI quality.
• Working closely with founders and engineers to shape the technical direction of the platform.

What we're looking for:

• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Python skills and experience building AI-powered applications.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI agents or conversational AI.
• Experience with voice technologies, real-time systems or platforms such as LiveKit is a strong advantage.
• Someone who enjoys building from first principles and thrives in fast-moving startup environments.
