Role Description

The Artificial Intelligence Engineer will design, develop, and deploy AI solutions that support NHAI's operational and strategic objectives. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and training machine learning and deep learning models, implementing pattern recognition systems, and working on NLP-based applications to automate and enhance decision-making. The role involves collaborating with software developers, data engineers, and domain experts to integrate AI models into production systems and to optimize performance and scalability. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Miami, FL, where the engineer will spend part of the time on-site for collaboration and project work, with some flexibility to work from home for development, experimentation, and documentation tasks. The position also includes maintaining clear technical documentation, monitoring model performance, and contributing to continuous improvement of AI practices and standards.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including algorithms, data structures, and coding best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with Pattern Recognition and Neural Networks for classification, prediction, and anomaly detection tasks.
  • Hands-on expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP), including text preprocessing, model training, and evaluation.
  • Proficiency in AI/ML programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and version control tools.
  • Experience working with large datasets, data pipelines, and cloud or distributed computing environments.
  • Ability to translate business and operational requirements into technical AI solutions and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure, transportation, or public sector projects is beneficial, along with a commitment to ethical AI and data privacy.
