Job summary

The Press Hotel in Portland, ME is seeking a courteous Food & Beverage Server to greet, seat, and take orders, while adhering to beverage standards. You will communicate specials, assist with wine pairings, and ensure guest satisfaction. A strong emphasis on safety, accuracy in billing, and teamwork will be essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to greet, direct, seat guests and take food and beverage orders.
• Knowledge of beverage pouring and recipe standards.
• Ability to communicate daily specials and menus to guests.
• Ability to practice safe serving practices for alcohol service; escalate to manager when needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet, direct, seat, and take food and beverage orders.
• Adhere to beverage pour and recipe standards.
• Be knowledgeable of all wine, beer, alcohol, and specialty cocktails.
• Use suggestive selling methods to drive revenue.
• Prepare and present final bill and process payments using the POS system.
• Reconcile cash and handle cash deposits at end of shift.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in dining areas and storage.
• Assist team members to promote a positive work environment.
