Job summary

Jefferson RISE Charter School in Harvey, LA seeks a highly effective Art Teacher to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned visual arts instruction, fostering creativity and skill development while building positive relationships with students and families. You'll collaborate with the instructional coach and grade-level teams, implement IEPs/BIPs as needed, and dedicate time for after-school tutoring.

Compensation ranges from $40,000 to $55,000 annually depending on degree and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Art or related field is required.
• Content area certification is preferred.
• Demonstrated record of student achievement and growth.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured, high-quality Tier I instruction grounded in evidence-based strategies.
• Facilitate engaging visual arts instruction (drawing, painting, mixed media).
• Monitor student understanding and adjust instruction in real time.
• Use formal and informal assessment data to identify gaps and drive instruction forward.
• Differentiate activities so all students can participate.
• Provide feedback tied to learning targets and growth.
• Maintain a safe environment by managing equipment and safety procedures.
