Job summary

BASIS Leander is seeking qualified candidates for an Art Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. The role focuses on delivering BASIS Curriculum with subject expertise in art and fostering high-level learning.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in the subject or related hours, have IVP clearance, and be proficient in Microsoft Office. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree and 2+ years of teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in subject matter or 24+ credit hours in applicable subject matter with other degree.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate subject and grade specific lesson plans.
• Provide instruction on a higher level than grade-standard in an interactive learning environment.
• Implement BASIS Curriculum by designing effective and creative lessons and assessments.
• Collaborate with other BASIS Curriculum teachers to further develop curriculum/materials.
• Tutor students in content-specific knowledge and skills to heighten academic trajectory.
• Manage student behavior to foster academic achievement and responsibility.
• Support non-instructional functions such as Early Bird, Late Bird, and lunch.
• Maintain regular, full attendance.
• Supervise individual students or groups of students.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in subject matter
