Pretend City Children’s Museum seeks a mission-driven Museum Floor Associate II to oversee the care and maintenance of Pretend City’s Art Studio, curating open-ended materials for child-led exploration and creativity.

You'll train staff, manage supplies, run field trips, support families, and ensure guest safety while staying current with best practices in early learning. This role emphasizes hands-on collaboration with Education leadership to inspire curious minds through play.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2+ years in education or museum studies.
• Ability to speak in front of groups clearly.
• Experience with young children and public interactions.
• Organized and able to manage multiple tasks with little supervision.
• Experience with inventory or materials management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Curate and refresh open-ended materials in the Art Studio.
• Train team on child-led exploration.
• Set up, clean, and maintain Art Studio per best practices.
• Communicate observations to team.
• Track materials inventory and budget adherence.
• Engage in public programming.
• Run and facilitate field trips.
• Observe engagement of children and guests with the space.
• Stay updated on current field trends and adjust accordingly.
• Support families with parent education.
• Provide quality guest service and ensure safety.
• Additional tasks as assigned.
