Job summary

One River School is seeking a Gallery & Student Services Assistant (Part-Time) in Clark, NJ. You will be the welcoming first point of contact for students and visitors, help manage class check-ins, and assist with scheduling and calendar coordination in a vibrant art school and gallery environment.

The role offers evening and weekend hours, training opportunities, and a chance to engage with a dynamic community of artists and students in a contemporary learning space.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or administrative support is helpful but training is provided.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Interest or background in visual arts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet students, families, and visitors in person and by phone.
• Open and close the school, keeping a gallery-ready environment.
• Check students into classes and onboard new members.
• Lead tours for prospective students and families.
• Coordinate scheduling and makeup classes as needed.
• Build relationships with members through attentive service.
• Maintain gallery displays and describe artwork to visitors.
• Coordinate student pickups with parents/guardians.
• Support enrollments, schedule changes, freezes, and other student-service needs.
• Collaborate with instructors on programming, marketing, design, and operations.
