Job summary

One River School of Art & Design in Westport, CT is seeking a part-time Gallery & Student Services Assistant to greet students and families, manage front-desk operations, and help run exhibitions in a vibrant art school and gallery.

You will open/close the space, check students into classes, lead tours, assist with scheduling, and collaborate with instructors on programming and events. Evening and weekend shifts suggested; training provided for the right creative mindset.

Qualifications

• Customer service or administrative experience is helpful, but training is possible.
• Visual arts background is a plus and welcomed in a gallery setting.
• Strong organization, communication, and multitasking in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for students, families and visitors.
• Open and close the school, ensuring a polished, gallery-ready environment.
• Check students into classes and onboard new members.
• Lead tours for prospective students and families to explain programs and philosophy.
• Assist with scheduling class makeups and calendar coordination.
• Maintain gallery presentation and speak about artwork on display.
• Support enrollments, schedule changes, and other student services needs.
• Collaborate with instructors on projects related to programming, marketing and operations.
