Job summary

The Tides Inn's Maker Space in Irvington, VA is seeking creative, guest-focused Art Instructors for a contract teaching opportunity. This 1099 role is well suited to budding artists and art students who want to share their craft with resort guests. Availability Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays; instructors commit to two days per week.

Classes run daily at 10:00–11:30 a.m. and 2:00–3:30 p.m. through January 4, 2027, with commission of 30% on class revenue per guest (e.g., a $100 class with four

Qualifications

• Artistic experience and ability to teach one or more disciplines.
• Ability to lead classes independently and adapt instruction for children and adults.
• Ceramics experience is strongly preferred, especially pottery on the wheel and clay handbuilding.
• Keep gratuities earned and deliver guest service in a luxury resort setting.

Responsibilities

• Independently teach at least one Maker Space class to adults and/or children.
• Lead classes in Pottery on the Wheel, Clay Handbuilding, Watercolors, Printmaking, or Crafts.
• Prepare materials and maintain an organized, welcoming studio environment.
• Complete class and studio set-up and clean-up.
• Deliver warm, polished guest service in a luxury resort environment.
