Job summary

The Tides Inn in Irvington, VA, seeks guest‑focused Art Instructors for the Maker Space to lead engaging classes for adults and children in a luxury resort setting. This is a contract teaching opportunity, not a W‑2 position.

Availability Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays with a two‑day commitment per week. Classes run daily at 10:00–11:30 a.m. and 2:00–3:30 p.m. You’ll prepare materials, manage the studio, and deliver warm, polished service.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates artistic ability and confidence teaching one or more listed disciplines.
• Capable of leading classes independently and adapting for all ages.
• Ceramics experience is strongly preferred, especially pottery on the wheel and handbuilding.
• Reliable, friendly, professional presence with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Teach at least one Maker Space class to adults and/or children.
• Lead classes in Pottery on the Wheel, Clay Handbuilding, Watercolors, Printmaking, or Crafts.
• Prepare materials and maintain an organized, welcoming studio environment.
• Set up and clean up after each class and studio session.
• Deliver high‑quality guest service consistent with a luxury resort experience.
