Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University is establishing a pool of qualified applicants for possible adjunct teaching positions in the Art History program at VCUarts. The pool may be used to cover temporary staffing, provide special teaching expertise, or meet programmatic needs as opportunities arise.

Adjunct faculty are expected to be enthusiastic ambassadors for the Art History Program and to work with a diverse student population in a collaborative, learning-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Master’s degree in Art History or related discipline.
• Experience teaching at college level desirable.
• Experience using learning management systems and educational technology desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in applicant’s area of specialty and ARTH 103/104 surveys.
• Contribute to course design, student assessment, and learning activities.
• Engage with students in a collaborative, learning-centered environment.
