Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts (VCUarts) Center for the Creative Economy is establishing a pool of applicants on an ongoing basis for adjunct teaching positions. The Center will consult the adjunct applicant pool and contact qualified applicants for interviews on an as‑needed basis.

Adjunct faculty are expected to be thoughtful and proactive members of the VCUarts community and have a desire to work with a student population in a collaborative and learning‑centered

Qualifications

Appropriate teaching experience and/or strong oral presentation and communication skills.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

Responsibilities

Teach adjunct courses across Center for the Creative Economy areas (Creative Economy, Creative Enterprise, Idea/Concept Development, User Experience/Web Design, and electives).
Contribute to a collaborative, learning-centered environment for students.
Prepare and deliver engaging lectures and assessments while maintaining professional standards.

MFA, MBA, MS or BFA with significant professional experience in fields related to teaching responsibilities
