Job Summary
UOVO, the nation’s leading storage and services provider for art, archives, and collectibles, seeks an Art Handler/Driver to join its dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the art world, storage/collection management knowledge, and will be comfortable moving a wide range of art objects. The Art Handler/Driver will report to the Technical Services Supervisor. Department: Transportation. Location: Miami, FL. This in‑person position requires on‑site presence at UOVO’s Miami facility five days a week, with occasional requests to work nights and on weekends.
Core Responsibilities
- Proper handling of art objects, using appropriate methods and materials for packaging, loading, and securing for safe transport
- Install and de‑install artworks in‑house or at off‑site locations, often troubleshooting and utilizing critical thinking to scope changes
- Prepare and execute paperwork, including bills of lading, labels, driver logs, and detailed condition reports with accompanying photos when necessary
- Receive and release shipments into warehouse facilities
- Pack artworks for local, national, and international transportation and storage
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and DOT regulations
- Provide support to internal teams as needed
- Accept weekend, overtime, and holiday work as required; flexibility in schedule is essential
- Complete other projects as assigned by the manager
Qualifications & Skills
- Team player able to work in a fast‑paced, detail‑oriented, and dynamic environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of installation, packing, and art handling
- Excellent communication and attention to detail with both clients and coworkers
- Ability to problem‑solve and address onsite issues, escalating when necessary
- Valid driver’s license; CDL license a bonus
- Ability to push and pull 150 pounds on a dolly or cart, and 50 pounds without mechanical aid
- Ability to carry 40 pounds of varying size and shape up to 90 feet
- Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach overhead
- Ability to perform work exposed to outside weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
- Familiarity with hand trucks, pallet jacks, j‑bars, dollies, and other necessary warehouse equipment
