Job summary

The Teacher will maintain records, implement RCSS policies, and contribute to a safe, productive learning environment for all students, including those with disabilities, within a 10-month work year.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of RCSS curriculum and effective instructional practices.

• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans a program of study that meets individual needs to ensure student success.
• Reports to work on time and is prepared for all classes and duty assignments.
• Creates a classroom environment with student involvement to meet objectives.
• Provides an instructional program for all students including those with disabilities.
• Prepares lesson plans and communicates objectives to students.
• Guides learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives for lessons.
• Establishes learning objectives aligned with RCSS curriculum and growth.
• Uses methods and resources to motivate students to achieve objectives.
• Assesses student needs regularly and supports IEP implementation as needed.
• Takes safety precautions to protect students and property.
• Maintains accurate records as required by RCSS and law.
• Assists administration in policy implementation and classroom rules.
• Makes themselves available to students and parents outside instructional hours.
• Builds relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community.
• Plans and supervises assignments for instructional assistants and volunteers.
• May evaluate paraprofessionals’ performance with department heads.
• Maintains fair grading policies, attendance, and communications via RCSS systems.
• Performs additional duties as assigned to support school operations.
