Job summary

City of Manitowoc seeks an Art Instructor to develop and coordinate educational programs at the Rahr-West Art Museum. You will connect collections with the community through classes, workshops, and events, working with the museum director on schedules and outreach strategies.

The role includes coordinating fundraising activities for education programming and creating engaging, inclusive experiences for all ages, with flexible 15–18 hours per week and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in art, art education, museum education, museum studies, or related discipline.
• Teaching experience is required; museum education or related setting preferred.
• Ability to develop and deliver diverse educational programming for all ages.

Responsibilities

• Teaches art education classes at museum and in the community.
• Conducts special art education programs for private groups.
• Helps coordinate education-related events and programs.
• Creates marketing graphics and ads for education programming.
• Promotes programming via museum social media channels.
• Develops and manages in-person and digital educational experiences.
• Maintains supplies and prepares materials for programs.
• Communicates effectively with diverse guests and remains dependable.
• Weekend availability is required.
