Job summary

City of Manitowoc is seeking an Art Instructor to connect museum collections with the community through programs, classes, and events. You will work with the museum director to schedule and market educational programming aligned with the museum mission and assist in fundraising activities tied to education.

The role requires teaching experience in studio art education, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in art, art education, museum education, or related discipline.
• Teaching experience required, museum education preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of art materials, processes, and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Teaches art education classes at the museum and community locations.
• Develops educational programs and promotional materials.
• Coordinates education events and prepares schedules with the museum director.
• Creates marketing graphics and uses social media to promote programming.
• Assists in planning fundraising activities for educational programming.
• Maintains supplies and classroom spaces; ensures effective communication with diverse guests.
• Weekend availability is required.
