Base pay range

$120,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Role and Responsibilities

The Art Director/Creative Lead will collaborate closely with the Marketing team and ownership. They will plan and lead the execution of the visual components of marketing efforts, promoting and strengthening the Citarella brand and its sub-brands in accordance with brand positioning, while managing deadlines and priorities. The role involves working on a variety of projects including cross-platform digital and physical touchpoints, branding initiatives, and leading the design and production of visual and audio/video materials for digital media and web communications. As a highly skilled graphic designer, they must translate brand values into visually stimulating and engaging designs that showcase our food, people, and processes. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leadership & Project Management
    • Oversee content specialists, junior, and freelance designers, defining projects and deliverables, and developing tools and templates for the team.
    • Manage project deadlines and priorities, adapting to content changes.
    • Lead day-to-day digital and print projects such as menu design, signage, advertising, and packaging.
    • Assist with managing the printing process for all collateral, ensuring cost-effective designs.
  • Retail & Brand Design
    • Develop design templates and assets that communicate Citarella’s brand identity across media, including layouts, color palettes, typography, UI elements, and icons.
    • Maintain and update the Citarella Brand Style Book and guidelines.
    • Ensure consistent brand representation in-store and online, and in all communications.
    • Create graphic collateral to support marketing and promotional efforts, increasing customer engagement.
  • Private Label & Packaging Design
    • Develop and oversee the production of private label packaging and labeling from conception to completion.
  • Digital & Web
    • Translate website and e-commerce needs into engaging digital assets.
    • Design marketing ads and campaigns for digital channels.
    • Support social media content creation to boost engagement.
Qualifications and Education
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design preferred, with at least 5 years of experience leading design and video creation.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
