Please note that although our team is fully remote, SpinPlay currently operates out of NV and TX. Candidates must be willing to work from or relocate to these locations. The art team is expected to be available during 9am-3pm Pacific time.

Position & Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Art Director to join our team. As the Art Director, you will be the primary decision-maker and creative leader in game production, managing art professionals, overseeing art and animation development, and serving as the main contact for art/animation. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with animation (Spine) and act as the "product owner" to see projects through to completion. Adaptability in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Essential Functions:

• Lead management and creative processes for specific projects.
• Direct detailed aspects of art and animation to ensure high-quality outputs.
• Collaborate with designers to translate gameplay and functionality into actionable art strategies.
• Manage artists and animators daily, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Provide detailed feedback on art and animation.
• Organize and incorporate feedback from various sources for the art team.
• Assist designers with asset gathering and presentation.
• Lead team building, mentoring, and training efforts.
• Manage timelines, resources, and budgets for art projects.
• Coordinate with other departments to align creative strategies.
• Work closely with global teams to carry projects from concept to completion.
• Exhibit strong organization, leadership, and communication skills.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience creating art packages in the slot or video game industry.
• A portfolio demonstrating ability to turn ideas into compelling games.
• Proficiency in Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Knowledge of 3D software and Spine preferred.
• Understanding of the game development process.
