SMS Group in Burlington, NJ is seeking an Appliance Route Driver to lead the daily appliance pickup process, using a 16' or 26’ box truck to collect appliances while ensuring high customer satisfaction. The role involves leading a two-person crew, traveling to homes, and meeting KPIs for pickups.

The position requires a valid driver’s license, 2–3 years of box truck experience, strong communication, and the ability to work flexibly including evenings and weekends.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Appliance Route Driver will lead the daily Appliance Pickup Process, including, following a predetermined route using a 16' or 26’ Box truck to collect appliance while ensuring high quality customer satisfaction is delivered.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Primarily works as the lead for a two-man crew to safely remove appliances from customer homes.
• This includes travel to the homes, meeting with the customers and removing identified appliances.
• Operating a 16'/ 26’ box truck, with lift gate, to conduct pre-scheduled appointments.
• Meet the established daily, weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicators for appliance pickup appointments.
• Convey positive image of project partners by maintaining a professional appearance.
• Track and report pickups and deliveries using a mobile device.
• Cooperatively work with program staff to identify and recommend areas for process improvement.
• Perform related training and work as required.

Qualifications:

• Valid Driver's License and good driving record
• 2 – 3 years of experience operating box trucks
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

SCHEDULE

Monday-Friday (occasional Saturdays), Start time 7:30 am

• Able to work in very fast-paced environment and hold to deadlines.

• Able to respond to diverse set of challenges in the field and do whatever it takes to meet project deliverables on schedule.
• Ability to communicate effectively with subordinates, peers, superiors and customers.
• Knowledge and understanding of energy audits and the direct install measures

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 year furniture or appliance delivery or loading and unloading
• 1 year customer service experience
• Experience with Customer Management Systems/Databases
