Job summary

Red River Youth Academy in Norman, Oklahoma, seeks an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) to provide psychiatric and medical care to adolescents in our residential program. Under the Medical Director, you will conduct evaluations, history and physicals, and follow-up care from intake through discharge.

You will document in EMRs, collaborate with therapists and physicians, and help ensure treatment plan integrity.

Qualifications

• MSN/APRN or equivalent license recognized by the Oklahoma State Board.
• Experience in adolescent psychiatric care is preferred.
• Strong communication, documentation and collaboration skills required.

Job description

Red River Youth Academy is seeking a dedicated Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) to provide comprehensive care to adolescents in our residential treatment program. Under the direction of the Medical Director, the ARNP will conduct psychiatric evaluations, history and physical assessments, and follow-up care. This role ensures continuity of care from intake through discharge, supporting both the physical and psychological needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric evaluations and history/physical assessments for all patients.
• Provide follow-up care and monitor patient progress.
• Collaborate weekly with the Medical Director to review treatment plans and program integrity.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records.
• Work closely with therapists, physicians, and allied staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Comply with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
• Support compliance with state, federal, and JCAHO regulations.

Qualifications

• Education: MSN/APRN, ARNP, NP-BC, ACNP, FNP, ANP, or PA-C licensed under the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing.
• Experience: Preferred experience with adolescent psychiatric care and at least one year in a residential or outpatient setting.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with Joint Commission standards, EMRs, patient confidentiality laws, and community resources.
• Skills: Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Work Environment

This position operates in a temperature-controlled indoor environment. Tasks include walking, standing, sitting, and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs).
