Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) is seeking a Motor Vehicle Mechanic to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Army tactical and non-tactical wheeled vehicles at a contractor-managed turn-in site. You will ensure compliance with Army TMs, AR 750-1, DA PAM 750-8, and safety standards while documenting all services.

Responsibilities include PMCS, diagnostics, corrective maintenance, and preparing vehicles for storage or transfer. Travel within the US may be required; a valid license is necessary.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical training preferred.
  • 3–5 years of motor vehicle maintenance experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Army maintenance procedures, PMCS and TMs.
  • Army maintenance regulations (AR 750-1, DA PAM 750-8) knowledge.
  • Experience with Army logistics systems such as GCSS-Army.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair vehicle mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Must read Army TMs, schematics and diagrams; strong reporting skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required; ability to travel within the US.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect wheeled vehicles and trailers during turn-in for condition and compliance.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, and brake malfunctions.
  • Perform PMCS using Army standards and TMs.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and brakes.
  • Document services and prepare turn-in/disposal paperwork as needed.
  • Maintain logs per ISO 9001:2015 and support audit readiness.
  • Follow Army, OSHA and company safety regulations; manage HazMat as required.
  • Coordinate with technicians and Coordinators for vehicle processing timelines.
