Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking Health Care Specialists to serve as frontline medical care providers for civilians after disasters and for Soldiers. You will be trained to deliver emergency and ongoing care, manage medical readiness, and handle supplies and equipment.

This role offers training opportunities, pays during drill weekends, and a path to civilian healthcare careers in hospitals and clinics after service.

Qualifications

• Must enlist in the Army National Guard and meet citizenship requirements.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must pass a physical exam.
• EMT certification or higher may be pursued during training.

Responsibilities

• Administer emergency medical treatment to battlefield casualties.
• Assist with outpatient and inpatient care and treatment.
• Instruct Soldiers on Combat Lifesaver/First Responder training courses.
• Manage Soldiers’ medical readiness, medical supplies, and equipment.
